Kentucky State Police and Monitoring them

For some time now I have recieved many emails about what Police Scanner is needed to pick up the Kentucky State Police.
Kentucky State Police and now Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement uses a system called APCO-25. This requires a digital scanner to be able to decode KSP and KVE.
Below is a list of Police Scanners that is capable of monitoring the Kentucky State Police and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement:
I have the Uniden Bearcat BCD396T and it works great. Also I have heard great things about GRE Scanners.
Frequencies for the KSP can be found here. Vehicle Enforcement now communicates with Post on the same Frequencies.

So, I don't see it on the list, but I have to ask for my dad's sake. The Radio Shack Pro 163 won't be able to pick up the KSP? I wasn't real sure if it would or not until I got it home fiddling with it. Got it programmed with the frequencies and nothing is happening. I am a total newbie at this, but not a total idiot. Thanks for any info and input anybody can give.

Sorry, but the Radio Shack 163 is not a digital (APCO-25) scanner.
Only the ones listed above will decode KSP.

Yep, that's what I thought. I just wanted to hear it from the man himself!!! If anybody knows about KSP and scanning, I know you do.
I just talked to dad a little while ago and told him. He told me the kid at Radio Shack said it would. I told him, dad, Radio shack lies. Their website has lied to me several times saying there was an item at a store and it wasn't there, so no big surprise!!!
I did copy the list of the ones that will do it and sent it to him. We'll see what happens next.
